What is a Virtual Private Server

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) also known as Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS) or Virtual Machines is a powerful dedicated server solution that is divided or partitioned into several parts to operate multiple servers.Each smaller server is called a Virtual Private Server (VPS) as it is independent of the actual hardware. A Virtual Private Server (VPS) contains most of the same functionality as a dedicated server without the cost, essentially in highly general terms, a Virtual Private Server (VPS) is very much similar to a Windows partition of your hard disk however running simultaneously.

Each Virtual Private Servers (VPS) independently runs it's own Server Operating System (OS) and software such as PHP, MySQL or Apache. Virtual Private Servers (VPS) can be rebooted without affecting the other Virtual Private Servers (VPS) hosted on the same physical server/node giving you nearly all the freedom you would get with a Dedicated Server solution.
